Global Boiler Services and G&O Compensators bring their strengths together
When Global Boiler Services became part of G&O Maritime Group in end 2024, it opened the door to new opportunities for collaboration across the Group. One of the first to take shape has now been successfully completed: a joint pilot project with G&O Compensators.
Leading the project on behalf of Global Boiler Services was Mathias Møller Nielsen, Head of Repair, who joined the company in January 2024 following a career as a First Lieutenant in the Danish Defence.
“This project is a great example of what we can achieve by working together as a group. We combine our technical knowledge, field experience and an increasingly shared mindset across the brands,” says Mathias Møller Nielsen.
The project involved installing two compensators onboard a vessel while under way – a technically demanding task requiring precise measurements, surface preparation, welding, finishing, and final mounting. A combined team from G&O Compensators and Global Boiler Services completed the operation seamlessly. Two welders and one automation specialist from Global Boiler Services joined two compensator experts onboard in Antwerp, the two welders disembarked in the U.K. and the automation specialist disembarked in Las Palmas after the successful installation.

Welding expertise brought in-house
Until now, G&O Compensators had relied on external partners for installation work. With Global Boiler Services now in the Group, those competences are available internally. The company brings decades of experience with boiler repairs – an area where welding, documentation and execution under pressure are key strengths.
“It was a natural next step to offer our repair teams for compensator installations,” explains Mathias Møller Nielsen.
“We already have a strong team of Danish and Polish technicians covering the U.S. and European market and global mobility through our Dubai and Singapore branches all with a solid history. This is exactly the kind of synergy that makes being part of a group valuable for our clients.”
A fast-track integration
Shortly after joining Global Boiler Services, Mathias Møller Nielsen was tasked with strengthening the structure and efficiency of the repair division, which today includes four project managers and a large mobile team. The integration into G&O Maritime Group happened in parallel and quickly gave rise to cross-brand collaboration.
“From day one, we began identifying areas where we could contribute across the Group. This pilot project with G&O Compensators follows earlier collaboration with Atlas Incinerators, and we already have more joint projects in the pipeline,” Mathias Møller Nielsen says

A one-stop offering for shipowners
Combining competences across the Group is not only about internal efficiency – it creates broader and more competitive solutions for customers.
“If a vessel requires boiler repairs, burner upgrades, vibration mitigation and incinerator refurbishment etc., we can deliver it all as a single solution within the G&O Group. We are striving to be a one-stop supplier,” says Mathias Møller Nielsen.
The collaboration between G&O Maritime Group’s brands is gaining traction in the market. Clients appreciate the integrated approach and the ability to draw on specialised expertise across the group. With a strong knowledge base anchored in our Boiler Superintendents in Denmark, and a skilled team of Boiler Repair Specialists and coded welders based in Poland, we are well-positioned to serve both the U.S. and European markets. As demand continues to grow, the company is scaling its operations accordingly.
“We’re expanding, and with the backing of G&O Maritime Group, we’re ready to take on much more,” says Mathias Møller Nielsen.
